Down from the mountains...
...across the deserts...
...away from the bug-infested south...
...all roads lead home! Yes, we are finally once again at home in dear ol' Harvard, Illinois! Even despite the drought, it is truly beautiful here! Of course, we may be slightly biased. Actually, you'd all probably laugh if you could have heard us driving through central Illinois discussing the beauties of the cornfields. It is a cultivated beauty that the western states just don't have. It looks inhabited, and civilized. Homely and welcoming. Ah, yes! There is no place like home!
Here are a few remaining miscellaneous pictures from our trip!

The scenery along the way was breathtaking... to some more than others!

Actually, it was at a gas station. The bug covered truck was filling up at the pump next to us... and, of course, we couldn't resist snapping the picture!

The bug truck is great, a little closer to home than you might realize! After living in South Louisiana for 15 years, that picture brings back warm fuzzy feelings of our time there. Ok, maybe not warm fuzzy feelings, I guess spine tingling would be more appropriate. It goes without saying that we have seen our van look like that on more than one occasion.

Mrs. "Lindsay's Mom" :) - Yuck! I think I like the look of the plastic bugs and am glad we don't have experience like that with real ones! Up here the winter months act as an annual pest control application!

I believe those bugs are a grasshopper, spinder, ladybug ect....Those bugs could be a cherish or should I say a keepsake.

I love the traveling ear muffs! If you are from a large family and you travel together, such things can come in handy, as they have for me many times. Sometimes things can get noisy in a family vehicle on a long trip!
